Central State University in Wilberforce Ohio resumed classes after a nearly two week shutdown sparked by a Black Power riot. Students returned with many accompanied by parents staying in alumni housing or vacant dorm rooms overnight. A campus sign read Lets Keep CSU Open signaling cautious reopening.
U.S. roving ambassador W Averell Harriman landed in Bucharest amid talk of a new peace offensive in Vietnam. Bucharest Radio reported his greeting by deputy foreign minister Vasile Sandru as observers in Belgrade said he may seek Romania's aid to start negotiations during the anticipated Christmas truce.
UPI reports Cyrus Vance flew to Ankara with Greek concessions that could avert a Greek Turkish war over Cyprus. Athens sources say Greece accepted Turkey’s main demands to prevent conflict.
In Northern Ohio a wage proposal from Northern Ohio Telephone Co. to IBEW Local 986 was rejected by union members. The International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers has not authorized a strike yet, and details of the vote were not released. The wage pact expires today and no strike call has been made. Bruce Thompson and John Arbogast declined to disclose figures or request for strike authorization.
Two Sandusky residents were killed when their car slammed into Petersen Lumber Co on North Depot Street in Sandusky at 1 31 a m. Champion Hunter 36 and Willene Walker 24 died at Sandusky Memorial Hospital. Funeral plans are pending for Walker and Frey Funeral Home is handling Hunter’s arrangements. Donald P Babione 33 also died in a separate incident at Norfolk Western crossing in Clyde.
United Press International records 806 total deaths from Thanksgiving travel up to midnight local time. Six deaths per hour occurred on streets and roads during the 102 hour period, with further fatalities expected from delayed reports and weekend crashes.
Princeton New Jersey UPI reports a Gallup Poll showing 41 percent of Americans approve of President Johnson's job performance, up from 38 percent last month. Disapproval stands at 49 percent, with 10 percent undecided.

Senator Robert F. Kennedy says he would temporarily withdraw backing of President Johnson if Eugene McCarthy enters the race. He plans to stay out until the nominating process, noting McCarthy’s peace stance and Vietnam policy critique. Kennedy says Johnson’s domestic positions align with his views, but he cannot back McCarthy against Johnson.
Huron County commissioners sold a bank barn at the county airport for 110 dollars to Harold Wax of Collins RD 1 after a morning auction. Four bidders competed. first offer stood at 25 dollars. Wax must remove the barn within 90 days as it blocks access to the airport.
