Brown Sentenced to Life for Murder of Famulare

John W. Brown, 43, was sentenced to life in Ohio Penitentiary after being found guilty of first degree murder in the April death of William Famulare, with a jury recommending mercy and an automatic life term. Brown plans to appeal.

Baby Killed In Bus Crash In Petersburg

A four month old, Karen M. Overton of Toledo, died when a Greyhound bus skidded in heavy fog and overturned in a ditch. At least 25 people were injured including the mother, Mrs Flossie Overton, who had minor injuries. The bus rolled several times and landed upside down.

Milan Ledger Wall Collapse Injures Youth In Milan

A teen worker was injured when a wall at the former Milan Ledger building collapsed during debris cleanup. The building, damaged by a July 10 gas explosion, sent the youth to Fisher-Titus Memorial Hospital. Eyewitnesses cited the second floor gave way while bricks were being knocked loose.

Three Bodies Recovered In Sandusky VOA Fire Ruins

Firemen recovered three bodies from the rubble of the Volunteers of America building in Sandusky, raising the death toll possibility to seven with five other firefighters hurt. Capt. William Bird, 42, died when a vent stack collapsed. George Roach, 65, was identified among the victims.
