Plymouth High School opened the 1978-79 season with a 77-63 non league win over Monroeville. Jeff Ream scored 21, Mike Berberick 18, and Ron Schuller 15 for Plymouth, building a 15-7 first quarter lead and extending to a 20 point edge in the third. Monroeville was paced by Mickey Hofacker with 14 and Jerry Ryan with 11.
