Snow Belt Drops 14 Inches in Northeastern Ohio
Heavy squalls over northeastern Ohio brought up to 14 inches of snow in Geauga and Lake counties. The National Weather Service in Cleveland said a storm system from southeastern Canada fed very cold air across Ohio. Explosion on freight train rocks South Korea killing many
Seoul officials opened a probe into possible North Korean sabotage after a dynamite blast on a parked freight train at Iri killed over 50 people and injured about 1,000. The explosion leveled 400 buildings and carved a 49 foot crater near the village 125 miles south of Seoul.

Norwalk will receive 19107 in Comprehensive Training and Employment Act funds per Gov James Rhodes office. Vernis George Norwalk Finance Director says the money funds two hires for one time projects including insulation at the recreation center roof repairs at the street department building and park work. He had sought 80000 and plans to return to Columbus to seek reinstatement of the remaining funds.
