The Ohio Farm Bureau Federation adopts 70 policy resolutions at its 49th annual meeting and re elects all officers. In Cleveland Carl Stokes trails gained margin shrinks after election count errors remove 982 votes from his lead over Seth Taft. In Toledo a 19 year old man is killed by a sniper. In New York a gunman kills three men in a bar in a suspected professional homicide.
Hulbert Taft Jr 60 chairman of Taft Broadcasting and descendant of President Taft died Friday when a fallout shelter exploded at his Indian Hill estate. State fire marshal investigators probed the wreckage for a cause.

President Johnson used a two day Navy visit and Veterans Day remarks aboard the USS Enterprise to condemn antiwar critics while praising service members. He toured Ft Benning El Toro and other bases, pledging unity and urging continued resolve to end the war. He promised support for schools and homes and saluted soldiers and families for their sacrifices.
A three car collision occurred late Friday when a missing shoe caused driver Ann E. Moore to press the gas instead of the brake while waiting for a train on Jefferson Street. Marianne Landoll and Kathleen Mainzer were involved. all three cars were damaged and towed from the scene.
In California JPL scientists plotted a plan to contact Surveyors 5 and 6 on the moon as Surveyor 6 lands at the Central Bay site after a 240000 mile flight. Surveyor 5 may be reactivated to allow simultaneous two probe communications, a first in spaceflight. Meanwhile in Ohio a Norwalk family mourns Krag Roydes, 19, killed in Vietnam, the second Norwalk resident to die there, with services to be announced.
Senator Eugene J. McCarthy visiting Ann Arbor rejected Johnson's call for unity. He denied deciding to enter the early primaries, dismissing a Washington Post report as reading his mind. The Post said he would announce in Cambridge plans to enter the New Hampshire primary.
