16 Year Old NL Boy Dies After Football Collapse

Bruce G Murray age 16 of 126 Park Ave New London died after collapsing near the start of the fourth quarter in a New London Amherst football game at Amherst. An autopsy ruled sinus thrombosis with no play injury. He was active in church and school. Funeral plans announced.

Truck Damage After Narrow Turn At Corwin And Pine

A semitrailer pulled down wires and damaged a sidewalk at Corwin and Pine Streets on Tuesday while attempting a turn. Mrs. Anna Martin of 48 Corwin reported the incident at 12 23 p.m. Police searched area but could not locate the truck.

The Norwalk District failed to pass a 5 mill levy by 75 votes with 1,861 in favor and 1,936 against as 17 precincts reported. Board plans consider placing the issue on a December special ballot, needing a 55 percent yes to pass.

Jump Captures Ohio Senate Seat In 13th District

Harry V. Jump defeats incumbent Don J. Pease 41 679 to 40 244 to win the new 13th District seat. Huron County swung the vote, giving Jump a 3 708 plurality, while Lorain and Richland counties split narrowly. Jump praised Huron voters noting the county’s plurality sealed the victory after 11 p.m.

Judge Brown Defeated but Sees Path to Appeals Court

Norwalk Judge Clifford F. Brown won 6 830 votes in the state Democratic ticket and outpolled a Republican in Huron County while losing the state race by 247 937 votes. He plans to seek the Sixth District Court of Appeals seat in 1970 after four more years on the bench. Brown logged about 20 000 campaign miles with wife Katherine and their four children supporting him.
