Halston Spring Summer 1979 Show Mixes Ladylike Silhouettes
Halston opened his spring summer 1979 line to African drums and rock, presenting ladylike, conservative styles. City suits in brown ivory white banana and black with slim skirts, short hemlines, and belted or unbelted jackets emphasize crisp lines. Silk dresses feature abstracts and pastels on black, with tulip hems and cinched waists. Evening wear inflates with slim pants, silk tops tied at the hip, and rainbow silk shirt dresses leading to floaty long gowns and toga styles. Coats in rainbow chiffon layer over slips, while waistlines run slim and belts stay thin.
