Huron County voters decide on welfare levy renewal
Voters will decide Tuesday on a four tenths mill countywide welfare levy through 1982 to sustain about 3.8 million dollars yearly in state and federal welfare funds. Auditor Kenneth Reed notes 93 575 dollars were generated this year. Welfare Director Caroline Spoerr urges approval citing aid to children, poor relief, food stamps and Medicaid plus services for 5 000 to 6 000 people. The levy funds programs beyond ADC, day care, transportation, and elder or disabled assistance. The 15 member advisory board oversees welfare services and meets tonight and first Wednesdays at 6 45 in the Ohio Bureau of Employment Service.
