Pineapple Franks Stir Fry Over Rice
A simple skillet dish combines frankfurters water chestnuts and vegetables in a pineapple flavored sauce. Cook the mixture until thickened then stir in the franks and peppers top with tomato wedges and serve over rice for six servings.
Hartland 4-H Groups Hold Safety Meeting and Tea
Hartland Scramblers met May 11 for a safety meeting and viewed a film Trigger Happy Harry. Demonstrations covered Different Meals and How to Dress a Rabbit. A mother daughter tea for Townsend T S 4 H Club occurred May 24 at Frank Carey’s house with officer installations. Busy Needles held at Ginni Eckler’s home with two meeting place changes and posture demonstration. The next 4 H gatherings are scheduled for May 23 and June 5.

The Norwalk Downtown Merchants planted 36 shrubs in downtown planters but lack caretakers. Interested garden clubs or social groups should contact Don Yassange at Coffee Corner Restaurant or Chris Keller at the Norwalk Chamber of Commerce. In Elks Bridge Club results, Mrs Marshall Fields and James Daley won north and south hands. Second place went to Mrs Hugh Hutton and Allen Hakes. East and west winners were Mrs A L Swartz and Mrs Wayne Goodsite with runners up Mrs Herman Schaafsman and Ross Stewart. Jeans Genesis notes that cotton scraps from jeans and other items can be used to make rag content paper per the Cotton Fiber Paper Council.
