Moluccan gunmen free remaining children in Bavensmilde school
In Bavensmilde Netherlands authorities freed the last of 102 children held at gunpoint as sickness swept the school. Four teachers and 56 other hostages remained on a hijacked train nearby while a crisis message pleaded for the children’s release. Premier Joop den Uyl welcomed the release.

Ohio Industries to Face Lower Winter Gas Curtailments
Columbia Gas announced reduced curtailments for large industrial and commercial customers starting Nov 1 and a separate plan for schools.
