Trio Of Local Girls Qualify For State Track Finals
Moore from Moore, Missler from St Paul, and Flint from South Central earned spots at Bowling Green State University for the Ohio state finals in Columbus. Moore, a sophomore, will vie in the 100 and 220 yard dashes after clocking 11.4 seconds in both the prelims and finals of the 100 and 27.6 in the 220 final. Missler posted identical 15.4 second times in prelim and final for the 100 meters, finishing third. She also reached the 440 final with a 62.0 prelim before posting a 57.9 in the final.

Western Reserve Roughriders routed Firelands High School 24 to 7 in a non-league game. Tim Parcher went 3 for 3 with three doubles and 5 RBIs, Norman Welch added two doubles, Barry Holzmiller doubled, and Jeff Todd struck out 11 in a complete effort. Legion tryouts for Norwalk area players from Nor walk St. Paul Edison Monroeville South Central Western Reserve and New London high schools were moved due to rain. The practice is now Tuesday and Wednesday at 6 PM at McGuan Park. Players must not turn 19 before August 1 to be eligible.
