Nearly 50 Percent College Students Use Drugs Say Dean
Heidelberg College Dean Archie Thomas told the Norwalk Kiwanis Club that nearly half of college students use drugs and the problem extends beyond cities to remote areas. He cited a dramatic case of a student on a college campus who, after a panic, leapt from a window and later harmed himself with a broken bottle. He warned of various causes from peer pressure to societal drug availability and noted families push for grades while some youths would benefit from crafts instead of degrees.
