The Senate Judiciary Committee approved Don J. Young for a federal judgeship in the Northern District of Ohio. The nomination awaits full Senate confirmation. Young, nephew of Senator Stephen M. Young, is serving as probate court judge in Norwalk, Ohio.

Tax statements mailed for second half 1964 real estate taxes

Real estate tax statements for the second half of 1964 were mailed Thursday. Huron County treasurer Harold B. Collier reported the payment deadline without penalty is June 20. Current and delinquent taxes total 1,882,960.52 and special assessments 17,280.04.

Dad and son survive Route 13 crash after passing maneuver

Todd McCullough two, riding in the car driven by William M. McCullough twenty, was picked up from a body shop after February repairs. On Route 13 north of Fitchville the driver attempted a pass, lost control, and the vehicle left the road over an embankment. Both occupants were uninjured. the driver was cited for passing without an assured clear distance ahead.

Ghost penman signs President Johnson's name say expert

A handwriting expert, Charles Hamilton, accused Mrs. Johnson and several White House secretaries of signing President Johnson’s name on official documents and routine letters. He said Johnson delegates the duty, claims others have used ghost signers, and planned auctions included letters by Jack Ruby and Dr. Malcolm Perry.

A University of Toledo evaluation urges a three district merger of Milan Berlin Heights and Huron to form a single Er ie County district.
