Flagman Struck by Car on Ohio 4 in Norwalk Area
Ohio highway worker Edwin G. Timbs 57 from rural Norwalk was admitted to Fisher-Titus Memorial Hospital after a northbound car struck him while he directed traffic on Ohio 4 about a mile north of Seneca County. Timbs suffered a spinal sprain and elbow injuries but was listed in satisfactory condition. The driver, Paul B. Glover 77 of Springfield, was not cited. Separately, a vehicle driven by David M. Gates 44 of Cleveland burst into flame at Dodson's Corner Tavern and Grocery after a suspected faulty gas line. The fire was put out by a gas station attendant.

Stolen Mower Found by Norwalk Police
James G. Meisler reports his power mower recovered by police minus the air cleaner. Three youths ages 15 and 12 allegedly found it on Ontario Street and deny stealing it. Meisler says the mower disappeared after last Friday and was missed until Thursday.

Congressman’s tribute to church costs taxpayers big sum
