Strike Threat Looms Over Kroger Stores in Tri State
Local 1099 of the Retail Clerks Union threatens a strike at 67 Kroger Co. stores in Ohio Kentucky and Indiana if a new two year contract is not agreed by Midnight Wednesday. Union votes 1167 to 17 authorizing leaders to walk out during negotiations.

Cables Cut Roads Toll Lines Around Youngstown
Six more telephone cables to the west and east of Youngstown Ohio were severed early today raising total cuts to 19 in two days. The vandalism, using a powersaw as with earlier incidents, disrupted toll calls from Youngstown to points east. AT&T owned the toll lines while Ohio Bell Telephone Co lines carried television, teletype and radio network service from Pennsylvania. Mahoning County residents could not reach numbers within the city.

Toledo radio newsman cleared over four license plates
UPI reports Tom Young was found innocent after displaying all four license plates sent by the Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles. The bureau had mailed two extra sets and Young placed two on the front and two on the back. Ottawa Hills Municipal Court Judge Richard Secor dismissed the case and advised a three back one front arrangement if he uses all four.
