Gainesville reports $16 000 in toilet tissue stolen from the University of Florida. Officials say price doubling since December prompts campus security to mark remaining rolls with red stickers to identify university property.
Secretary of State Henry Kissinger told reporters that U.S. military steps to recover the Mayaguez and its crew demonstrate limits beyond which America cannot be pushed. He stressed no pursuit of proving manhood, but readiness to defend U.S. interests.
Paul W. McCracken, advisor to five presidents, told a Miami University inflation conference that the world recession is near its end and the U S recession has one or two months left, with a long, orderly expansion expected to begin in 1975.

Gulf Oil Chairman Bob Dorsey testified that the firm paid 5 million in bribes to foreign officials including Bolivia Italy Lebanon and South Korea as U.S. government support was seen as insufficient. The disclosures came during a Senate Foreign Relations subcommittee probe into payments by Gulf and three other companies totaling nearly 40 million.
The body of 21 year old William Magnuson was recovered Friday from Cave Run Lake near Morehead after he drowned April 22 when a motorized canoe overturned. Two fishermen snagged the body about a quarter mile from the accident site, in water 30 to 50 feet deep among submerged trees. Magnuson, a 1972 St Paul High School graduate and Morehead College junior, is survived by his mother Mrs Edmund Magnuson. The body will be taken to Heaston Funeral Home.
Erie County auto accidents claim two lives on Friday. Erva L. Sibrel 71 Gypsum Ottawa County died after driving through warning devices on the Bay Bridge into Sandusky Bay. Albert T. David Jr. 32 Sandusky killed in a head on Perkins Avenue crash.
