Truck Dives Off Turnpike Injuring Two Men
Two Pennsylvania men escaped serious injury when a semi-trailer plunged down an embankment off the Ohio Turnpike near the Huron River. Walter Wenzel 47 of Arnold and Richard Rockwell 45 of Pittsburgh were listed in fair condition at Fisher-Titus Hospital. Authorities said brakes froze as the eastbound truck went off the road, crossed a guardrail, and tumbled down the slope three miles east of the Sandusky Norwalk interchange. Turnpike patrolmen continued the investigation at noon.

May Ask New Levy SC Teachers Get Salary Increases
South Central School District teachers will receive an average raise of 400 dollars under a new salary schedule adopted by the board. The plan, starting in September, outlines pay scales by education level and experience, adding about 30 thousand dollars annually to costs and prompting possible voter approval of an operating levy.
