Denies Story Van Allen Not Withdrawing From Race
Van Allen 62 Willard insurance agent denied Wednesday reports he would quit the Huron County Board of Commissioners race facing Republican incumbent Arthur Herner and independent Robert Timman. The Reflector said rumor started after a Democratic Central Committee meeting in Norwalk. Van Allen insisted he would stay in the race and blamed speculation on rumor. Several locals questioned the denial as reporters pressed for comment while the central committee disputed the claim. A heck of a rumor, the candidate said, but I intend to stay right in the race.
