New Idea for Huron County Mental Health Board

Dr. Larry Hadley outlined a plan to form a non profit corporation to run Huron County mental health services. A three member board and administrator would oversee the program, potentially with former 648 Board members, to qualify for state funds by July 1. The 648 Board would contract with the non profit to operate the Mental Health Center, Transition Center, Drug Services, and Children’s Assistance programs.

Norwalk Dollars for Scholars raises 1011 in door to door drive

The Norwalk Chapter of Dollars for Scholars collected 1011 from a door to door fund drive last week. Volunteers canvassed residents May 2 and over the weekend. Fund chairman Nancy Doerner said she is pleased with the community response and noted prior donations during a major donor campaign.
