Avery-Norwalk and Sandusky printers will share tips with the EHOVE Joint Vocational School printing class on May 23. About 20 printers will meet at 11 30 a.m. for lunch then observe students at work and offer suggestions about the industry. The 20 students include 16 boys and 4 girls.
Barbara J. Barrett, 22, with 2800 flight hours and a college degree, becomes Eastern Airlines first woman pilot. She passed a physical and will begin training at the Miami base. Eastern lowered height rule to five six after her initial application. Barrett now flies cargo for Zantop Airways and will train to pilot the Lockheed Electra or Boeing 727 Trijet.
John Reilly of the International Council of Shopping Centers warned at the group's Anaheim meeting that new EPA rules could bar the construction of additional shopping centers. He said the limits target air pollution from cars at centers, potentially restricting centers that exceed Clean Air Act emissions. The EPA plans final goals by June 11 with state plans due by August 15.
Firelands Chapter joins 3,000 groups in appealing for contributions for flood victims across Ohio counties and 20 states since March 17. The organization cites 73 disasters since March 17 and urges donations to the Firelands Chapter in Sandusky or Norwalk.
Mr and Mrs John Finch of Halfway Road express sincere thanks to the Norwalk Ambulance Service for the April 1 delivery of their baby by attendants Charles Sweet and Joy Martin. They note mother and child are both doing fine and praise the quick response. The Finch boy is believed to be the first baby delivered by the city ambulance.
Huron County Clerk of Courts says April saw 2678 motor vehicle titles issued plus 571 memo titles 101 duplicates and 25 duplicate memos. Liens totaled 847 with 723 cancelled. Watercraft titles 61 and 10 liens on watercraft. Common Pleas filed 57 cases including 10 criminal charges 22 civil suits and 25 divorces petitions. 31 divorces granted. Revenue included 99708 to Ohio Department of Taxation 7058 clerk fees 1304 Bureau of Motor Vehicles and 34 Wildlife division. 30 passport applications sent to State Department.
