Robinson's Thumb Fracture Shifts MVP in Orioles Doubleheader
Orioles star Brooks Robinson, the 1964 MVP, fractures a thumb but appears for a pinch hit in the 12th inning to spark a 7-1, 4 sweep of the Tigers. Manager Hank Bauer shifts lineups as Robinson faces a 3- to 10-day absence, with x-rays confirming the break after Saturday’s hit by Hank Aguirre.
