Jury expected to decide in Collie Wilkins Jr. trial
An all white, all male jury in Hayneville Alabama is expected to reach a verdict today in the Ku Klux Klan case against Collie Leroy Wilkins Jr. on charges he killed Mrs Violaiuzzo last March 25. Mrs Liuzzo of Detroit, mother of five, was the first white woman killed in the civil rights movement.

James Marshall Stevens says he was not arrested or charged last week after authorities picked up Glenn L. Johnson in Sandusky County. Johnson was arrested in a burglary probe and held in Fremont. Health Board Seeks Study on Waste Disposal Standards
The Huron County Board of Health asked the county commissioners to join a study of waste disposal to set standards and explore methods. The Peru Township dump on Geiger Road was approved with conditions to prevent nuisances and protect the river. The board will discuss a private dump proposal on Route 250 with legal counsel. North Fairfield students completed an Ohio unit by building a 12 foot square paper village of their town and earning money through peanut brittle production to fund a Cuyahoga River boat trip from Cleveland. They weighed, measured, sold, and delivered the candy, learning math and teamwork along the way.

Norwalk hosts its 20th annual Pet N Pup Parade at 9 30 a m on Saturday May 15. The route starts at W Main and Church Streets travels east to the rear of Norwalk High School with Bernard Kean as parade marshal and Harold Finch as assistant. Judging occurs at the high school. Chief Warrant Officer J. W. Bender, whose wife Betty lives in Dothan Alabama, received the second through the fifth Oak Leaf Clusters to the Air Medal while serving with the U S Army Support Command Vietnam. On April 24 Bender earned the award for meritorious achievement during aerial support of ground forces of the Republic of Vietnam. The Oak Leaf Cluster marks each additional Air Medal award. the support command advises on training equipment use and tactical operations for the Vietnamese forces.
