Tragic Train Crash Kills Greenwich Woman and Aunt
A 22 year old Greenwich woman and her 41 year old aunt died in a violent car train crash at the Main Street crossing of the New York Central tracks. Mrs Alberta Jean Mills died en route to Willard hospital in a Myers Funeral Home ambulance after the collision. Mrs June Ellen Mack was killed instantly after being thrown from the car. The driver, Mrs Mills, faced west on Main while the train from Indianapolis to Cleveland neared. engineer Daniel Steiger said he could not stop in time.

Fire Destroys Norwalk Home in Morning Blaze
Fire gutted the Norwalk residence of Mr and Mrs Joe E Dudley at 243 West Main. The Dudleys and their daughter Karen plus Dr and Mrs Charles Peasley were left homeless. An insurance adjuster doubted salvageable losses, with clothing and belongings lost. a mother cat and four kittens perished in the basement. Fire crews were alerted at 12 10 pm Tuesday by Charles Argyle after a passerby reported smoke.
