A May 1977 SBA study lists potential local gains in Norwalk including 100 new factory jobs, 91 more children, $710,000 in personal income, 100 more households, and $331,000 in retail sales. The Growth Committee of the Norwalk Chamber of Commerce, led by engineer Ergun Baharoglu, champions expanding beyond industry to attract housing and commercial growth.
