Seniors Allowed To Talk In Study Hall At Norwalk High
Norwalk High School authorized a Senior Center program granting seniors in all senior study halls extra privileges. Senior students may talk move between seats and work on personal projects. Principal Frank McDonald said the program began today in four all senior study halls and will expand to three more once underclassmen are reassigned.

New London Bids Public Parking Lot Purchase
NEW LONDON The village bid of 10000 dollars for a parking lot downtown has been accepted by seller Macmillan Inc of Somerset New Jersey. Emergency legislation cleared the sale at a 7 a.m. council meeting. The lot on East Main Street measures 66 by 135 feet and will be financed from the capital improvement fund.

Authority Seeks Funds For Airport Improvements
Huron County Airport Authority debated financing options to maintain and expand the airport. Suggestions included borrowing rather than piecemeal funding, tapping federal seat taxes on airlines and aircraft fuel, and establishing a master plan for presentation to city and county leaders. An escrow fund for taxiway fees and a $2,500 land payment were noted amid talks on supervision of government workers and stricter guidelines. Executive sessions on future litigation were held March 1 and 6.

Indicted robbery suspects named in New London case
Two Elyria men Eddy Ward 21 and Bobby R White 24 were indicted for aggravated robbery in the Cerlan’s Carry Out robbery on March 20. Store clerk Valerie Cerlan 21 was cut by a knife allegedly wielded by White. About $80 was taken and they were captured shortly after. Cerlan fired a shot at the getaway car. Ward is free on bond while White is jailed. The grand jury also handed down two secret indictments.
