Injured Man Refuses to Talk on Exploded Car Case

Month of Vietnam losses hits 1,406 GIs in first offensive month
UPI reports the U.S. command tallies 1,406 American GIs dead in the first month of the Communist nationwide offensive with guerrilla deaths at 19,171. Weekly casualty figures show 266 killed and 1,462 wounded, the lightest losses yet. American fatalities total 33,329 since January 1, 1969, just 300 shy of Korea War totals.

Medal to Marine Davis Widow as Honored Ceremony Held
The widow of Marine Sgt. Rodney M. Davis of Macon Georgia received the Congressional Medal of Honor posthumously from Vice President Spiro Agnew in a ceremony. Davis sacrificed his life in Vietnam by throwing himself on a grenade to save comrades. His daughter Samantha, 22, watched.

Mummified body found in nursing home roof area
A 71 year old minister, Robert Warfield, who had been missing from Midtown Nursing Home for over a year, is believed to be the deceased found in a 10 inch cavity between the seventh floor and the roof. The corpse was discovered by maintenance man John Murray who crawled into the tight space to repair a water valve.

Prayer Revived Him During Five Years as POW
Special Forces Maj. James N. Rowe of McAllen Texas described his five years in Viet Cong captivity at the Pentagon. He said prayer lifted him from despair when interrogators pressed him and that his faith sustained him, including moments when escape seemed possible. Rowe was captured October 23 1963 and escaped in December from the U Minh Forest in the Mekong Delta.

Norwalk Patrolman Resigns Over Low Wages and Cooperation
