Hall of Famer Joe Medwick Dies at 63 in Florida

St. Petersburg Florida UPI reports Hall of Famer Joe Ducky Medwick of the Gas House Gang with the St. Louis Cardinals died early today of a heart attack. Medwick, 63, walked into Bayfront Medical Center around 10 p.m. Thursday with chest pains.

UPI reports this week's Ohio lottery results. The number 818 in any box wins 20 dollars. 862 and 762 in green and blue boxes win 500 dollars. 862 and 762 in green boxes enter a 300 000 dollar drawing and automatically win 15 000 dollars.

Former City Woman Killed In Accident

Mrs. Carolyn Hippler Landenberg, 29, a Norwalk native and Downingtown resident, died after a 5 p.m. van collision on State Route 100 while en route to work at a Holiday Inn. Bruce W. Carter, 29, of Pottstown, was injured. both vehicles wrecked. Burial planned at St. Paul Catholic Cemetery.

McDonald’s to Start Building Here This Monday

McDonald’s plans to begin construction on a new restaurant at Benedict Avenue and Executive Drive starting Monday. Ross Huffman, real estate manager, says financing via industrial revenue bonds may be used if local government supports the option. The restaurant is to be completed by July with local firms to handle subcontracted work.

County Dedicates Land Lab for School Use

The Huron County Commissioners opened a 14 acre land laboratory on county property between South Norwalk Road and the U S 20 bypass. School representatives explored trails, a Boy Scout troop planted over 400 seedlings, and tours can be arranged through the Huron Soil and Water Conservation District. An Easter Egg Hunt sponsored by the city recreation department and the Jaycees will be held Saturday at 1 30 p m at McGuan Park.
