Norwalk residents faced a last snow flurry as four inches lay over the city with cancellations and a few school closings in surrounding districts. Traffic officials logged numerous minor accidents on slick roads while the forecast called for partly sunny skies and colder conditions.
Norwalk Charter Commission plans a second vote next Tuesday on whether to recommend a mayor or a city manager. The 6-5 last week sparked dissent led by William Dreyer who argued the majority did not reflect the full 15 member panel. The panel also debated whether all members should be required to vote on the issue.
Norwalk boards vote four to one to place a fourth operating levy before voters at the May 7 primary. The district plans to set the amount at a May 26 meeting amid concerns about timing and campaign preparation.
Kent K. Haynes 26 of Toledo was arraigned in Huron County Common Pleas Court on a not guilty plea for trying to break into Obie's Tavern in Olena last July 3. Co-defendant Robert Windau of Sandusky pleaded guilty previously and is jailed on a 1 to 15 year sentence.
