Midwest Industries gives 3000 to Willard Memorial Library fund
Top Oya Pact Willard Midwest Industries of Willard presented a 3000 dollar check to the Willard Memorial Library building fund. Stewart Watterworth said Midwest wants to be part of all community events. Other local gifts include 500 from the Baltimore Ohio Railroad 500 from the Columbia Gas Company and 500 from the Northern Ohio Telephone Company. The Ringle trial opens in Huron County Common Pleas Court with indecent assault charges against Dale Eugene Ringle. He spent 30 days at Lima State Hospital before trial arrest on December 28. In Selma Alabama a minister, Rev James Reeb of Boston, remained in critical condition after a beating by white men following civil rights demonstrations.

United Press International reports more than 700 people, both Negro and white, marched in Cleveland and Columbus to show sympathy for Negroes in Selma Alabama. ITA Reading Aid Promises Easier Learning for Children
Mrs. Jane Rusk outlined the Initial Teaching Alphabet ITA at a Norwalk schools meeting. ITA assigns one symbol per sound and adds symbols to standard letters to reduce reading inconsistencies, aiming for a larger first grade vocabulary and easier word pronunciation.
