Reds Intensify Khe Sanh Attack

North Vietnamese artillery hit Khe Sanh as heavy fighting raged along the DMZ near Dong Ha and Da Nang. Marines reported multiple battlefield kills while U S and South Vietnamese forces inflicted heavy casualties on opposing forces. Civilian casualties and executions linked to the Hue battle were also reported by the U S mission.

UNNON AFB New Mexico UPI Captain Dale Noyd age 34 was found guilty of disobeying a lawful order after he refused on religious grounds to fly a training mission with a Vietnam bound student pilot. He faces penalties from 5 to 5 years at hard labor as decided by a nine man court martial in under 90 minutes.

Contractor May Go To Court On EHOVE Job

The rejected Raywood Construction Co. which bid 902000 for EHOVE phase II faces possible legal action after EHOVE Education Board chose Jennings & Charella Construction of New London with 923600. Board cited defects in bidding. Raywood contends the bid issues are technical and not real reasons for rejection.

Senate approves sweeping civil rights housing bill

After seven weeks of debate the Senate backs a broad civil rights package by 61 to 19 advancing a measure outlawing housing discrimination in most dwellings and expanding federal protections against racial violence. A final Senate vote was expected as a formality before a House decision.

Bank promotes Hakes Fries to new cashier roles
