County Hears Building Proposal For 648 board in Norwalk area
The Huron County Board of Mental Health and Retardation seeks to buy the Baltes building on U.S. 20 in Norwalk to house mental health operations. The 648 board president William Owens and executive director Robert Klenk met with county commissioners in a closed 12 hour session to discuss the potential purchase. Costs include an asking price of 450000 with possible state financing covering 70 to 87 percent, though this is tentative. The board has not ruled out a new building and authorized a study last April. Commissioners demanded more detailed information and copies of proposed bylaws ahead of tonight’s 648 board meeting.
