Break In Benedict Water Main Found By City Crew

City workers located a break in a Benedict Avenue three quarter inch home service line at the Benedict Avenue and Olive Street intersection at 10 15 this morning after hunting since 5 p.m. Monday. Crews dug three holes to find the leak and began repairs. Detours were in place along Benedict Avenue and traffic was routed over Norwood and Christie Avenues while crews worked. Water service to homes remained uninterrupted due to a valve on the line. The break flooded pavement and froze, creating patches on the roadway.
