Impersonators Target Firelands Electric Customers

New London reports two men posing as Firelands Electric Co op workers, claiming wiring checks and requesting 12.50 cash. One man distracted a resident while the other stole 63. Police and sheriffs in Ashland Richland Huron Lorain Medina counties alerted. Firelands warns no inside work or checks are authorized. Vehicles were marked pickups blue and light colored. Incidents occurred between 2 and 5 p m Monday.

Real Mendelsohn Stands Up on Phyllis CBS Disclaims

CBS's Phyllis aired a disclaimer denying any intent to malign San Francisco Supervisor Robert Mendelsohn. Police estimate about $30 000 worth of jewelry silver and valuables were taken from the Maryland home of Sen John Glenn D Ohio. The items included astronaut and Marine pilot medals and sentimental mementos dating from spacework and Soviet cosmonauts. Glenn planned to donate many items to a museum.
