The Committee to Elect Elmlinger Recorder says John Elmlinger spent $698.31 on advertising and supplies for the June 8 primary. All funds came from Elmlinger. he faces Republican incumbent Jay Thomas in November. Thomas Carabin led GOP bids for county commissioner with $274.89 in expenses. Other totals include $152.76 for Gerald Fife, $451.76 for Dale Stearns, and no spending by Dr William B Holman for coroner.

Ambulance Rams Two Parked Autos on Benedict Avenue
Norwalk ambulance veered off at Benedict Avenue injuring two parked cars and a meter. Driver Louis Harding 37 said he braked on a hill and slid into Bly and Becker vehicles at 30 to 35 mph. No citations issued. Another ambulance responded. A separate wreck injured Randy Bartow 18 who was charged with reckless driving and leaving the scene after a crash on Marian Drive.
