U S air power targets North Vietnamese forces besieging Ben Het with B52 strikes within a mile of the garrison. On Sunday 90 strikes supported 200 Americans and 450 South Vietnamese, the most in 56 days. officials say pressure is lifting as bombardment continues after a brief 22 hour lull.
John W. Brown the first degree murder defendant in the April 25 slaying of William L. Famulare of Bellevue is ordered to Lima State Hospital for up to thirty days for mental observation and examination. Brown turned himself in and is to be evaluated before his July 14 trial.

B F Goodrich will shutter its Watertown Massachusetts footwear plant as soon as possible after 1200 workers in Local 21914 Rubber Workers Union rejected a 43 cent per hour wage cut. Company president John C Mackinnon said phaseout would begin as quickly as commitments allow and the plant has run at a loss for three years.

Norwalk Truck Lines division of United Buckingham Freight Lines will stop salvage sales within one or two weeks. The warehouse at 42 Woodlawn Ave. has been a longtime salvage source for the United Buckingham system before Ringsby splits the division and halts deliveries to Norwalk.
