Goodrich to close Watertown footwear plant after wage rejection
B F Goodrich will shutter its Watertown Massachusetts footwear plant as soon as possible after 1200 workers in Local 21914 Rubber Workers Union rejected a 43 cent per hour wage cut. Company president John C Mackinnon said phaseout would begin as quickly as commitments allow and the plant has run at a loss for three years.
