County Opposes New Ohio Sewage Regulations Hearing
Huron County officials including Deputy Health Commissioner Clarence Ellett plan to attend a Columbus hearing on proposed home sewage disposal rules. They call for delay, a new proposal based on field experience, funding to enforce the code, and less paperwork. The county, with about 5000 septic tanks, expects enforcement costs to rise from 25 to 50 dollars per permit. The group will present at 9:30 a.m. in Hearing Room 2 at the State Office Building.
