A Miami wedding with nearly 300 guests was called off by mutual consent after a groom reportedly got cold feet and flew to another city. The bride’s family announced the event as cancelled rather than postponed, the hotel banquet cake was donated to a children's hospital, and the couple had planned a dove themed ceremony at the Fontainebleau Hotel Grand Ballrooms.

In Helena New York a former lay preacher killed his four children Timothy 8 Ruth Elizabeth 6 Mary 5 and John 3 with a 12 gauge shotgun then shot himself in a field near the family home on Father’s Day. Margaret Sturgeon reported the departure from the house and later found the bodies in a long arc. The father K Wesley Sturgeon 39 worked in Chevrolet purchasing.
Rev Calvin Stalnaker program director will outline areas likely needing anti poverty programs as the Erie Huron Community Action Commission Board of Directors meets Tuesday at 8 p.m. in the Erie County Courthouse. Resignations by some members, by law clarifications, and a financial report also on the agenda.

The Norwalk Post of the Ohio Highway Patrol reported weekend incidents on Ohio 194 and Town Line Road. Richard Taylor of New Haven escaped injury when Delmas Hale of Greenwich lost control while attempting to pass and crashed. Hale was treated for facial cuts and cited for improper passing. At 8:30 p.m. James Elmlinger of Willard turned too sharply on Angling Road, went off the curb, and was cited for driving while intoxicated after minor injuries.
