Stones Draw 80,000 in Cleveland Stadium Concert

More than 80,000 fans packed Cleveland Stadium for a Rolling Stones show described as a record outdoor crowd. Schwiefert Pleads Guilty in Ohio Slaying Case

Schwiefert pleaded guilty to aggravated murder in Huron County Ohio. A note found in Kenneth Shaw's wallet aided the arrest after Shaw had given Schwiefert a ride from Angola Indiana to Eden Ohio. The plea avoids a potential death sentence with a life term and parole eligibility in 15 years.

Huron County Court Sees Marathon of Three Major Cases

Saturday's session at Huron County Common Pleas Court marked one of the busiest days in history as three major cases were settled. Mark Schwiefert pleaded guilty to aggravated murder and received a life sentence. Larry J. Bumphus was found guilty of aggravated robbery and got 7 to 25 years, while William Thompson Jr. faced revived drug charges with 20 to 40 year terms to run concurrently after a shock probation hearing was denied.

Widow forgives murder suspect in Shaw case

Edon Ohio reports Kenneth R. Shaw's widow asks for no death penalty for Mark W. Schwiefert who pleaded guilty to stabbing Shaw to death on January 27. She sent him a Bible while he was jailed and cited faith helping her endure tragedy including the earlier deaths of her first husband and their baby.

King Brothers Circus Comes to Norwalk This Tuesday

The King Brothers Circus performs two shows at the Norwalk fairgrounds Tuesday afternoon and evening, with arrival around 1 a.m. for setup.
