Parsons College Folds After Bankruptcy Leaves Fairfield Shocked
Parsons College in Fairfield Iowa announced it cannot continue and filed for bankruptcy in Des Moines. The 98 year old school owed 16 million dollars, employed about 175 locals and had a 150000 dollar monthly payroll, with many buildings empty since 1967. Community leaders fear lasting cultural and economic harm to Fairfield.
