Joe Deckret, 54, 235 pounds, set a new record by eating 21 Polish sausages in one hour at Polock Johnny's seventh annual event. He edged 23 year old Suzie Hawes who finished with 18 sausages and won a $100 prize plus a four foot trophy. Hawes, the event’s only female competitor, said she felt sick near the end.
