Ralph Cappozzoli aged 17 was crushed to death at Cashway Lumber Co in Akron when a large pile of shingles collapsed on him two days before his high school graduation. He worked part time at the yard. Hurricane Alma buffeted Cuba and southern coastlands with gale winds and heavy rain as Isle of Pines experienced rising tides.
