Church urges beyond simple solutions at Toledo rally

Sen. Frank Church spoke at Woodward High School as about 500 of 1500 Carter supporters remained. He said as a presidential candidate he aims to go beyond simplistic fixes and that winning the primary could change the election’s course. Some attendees stayed and preferred Church after his speech.

Ford Boasts Economy In Tight Primary Battle

President Ford argues the latest economic data will boost support in Tuesday's primaries. Labor reports unemployment fell to 7.3 percent in May with a record 87.7 million employed, while the wholesale price index rose 0.3 percent, a softer gain than anticipated.

Nixon denies affair letters hoax claim in White House letters case

Nixon through an aide called the 22 letters alleged to show a lengthy affair with a diplomat's wife a sordid hoax. His lawyer sent a notice to the publishing agent who disclosed the letters as forgeries. The agent had copies of the letters and three London papers reported their existence.
