The Labor Department reports the consumer price index up half a percent from May to 120.9, 4.2 percent above a year ago, driven by housing costs. This means a $10 base basket now costs $12.90. $10 in 1957-59 terms equals $24.97 today.
Monroeville school administrators will forego part of a salary increase to support a seven mill levy in November.
