In Lucasville Ohio corrections officials began a search of the 22 acre facility after four inmates were stabbed over two weeks. One inmate died from stab wounds. Joseph Ashley said the four knives used were stainless steel and not detectable by the prison metal detector.

Water Line on Gallup awarded to Lutes Brothers Excavating Co
The contract for an 860 foot waterline on Gallup Road was awarded to Lutes Brothers Excavating Co of Berlin Heights. Their bid of 17 962 20 was the lowest of seven. The line serves the Church of the Nazarene and two Bernard Cring lots and runs east from North Street. Property owners pay 34 88 percent of the cost with the city covering the remainder. They have deposited 5 940 with the city. The original estimate was 16 570. Because the bid exceeds the estimate the owners will be asked to contribute more to meet their share.
