Village Pays 80 000 For Land In New London
Settlement ends a land appropriation dispute in Huron County as the village agrees to buy 78.07 acres from Edward and Joseph Hooker for 80000 dollars including 60650 for the land and 19350 for damages. The deal includes a 40 foot right of way and perpetual easement to reach Ashland farmland. Change in Peru postal routes due to new construction

Watches Reported Stolen at Brooker Brothers
Two men reported thefts from lockers at Brooker Brothers Forging Co. in Norwalk. Walter D. Dishman, 22, and Dennis D. Ritchie, 24, told police a $360 wristwatch and a $200 pocket watch were taken.
