Wake man Homecoming marred by rain but spirits hold
Rain and strong winds failed to dampen Wake man Homecoming events. About 60 parade units took part led by Jerry Eaton. Winners included Huron County Pony Breeders Association horses and 1907 Ford owned by Edgar Ames. Parade judges named multiple winners across horse shoe, pony pull, and drill categories. Don Hawley performed a parachute jump after the storm as area fire departments battled a water fight won by Perkins Township.
