In weekend City Slo-Pitch play Reineck's Cafe beat Huron County Bank 9 6 as Duane White led with three hits off Kenny Magill. The Cafe scored steadily with three runs in each of the first three innings and Jim Smith added a double and two singles. Other games saw Gas Light drive past Connie's Laundry 3 9, Bennett Electric defeat Norwalk 9 3, Norwalk Merchants topple Cauch Concrete 2 3, Bench Diversified edge Home Savings 7 6 in extras, and Diversified rally to 14 12 over Culligan. Rod Milburn won the 110 m hurdles title in 13.1 seconds at a multi nation meet in Sena Italy.

Latrobe Pennsylvania UPI reports the Pittsburgh Steelers announced they acquired former All Pro defensive tackle Tom Keating from the Oakland Raiders in exchange for an undisclosed 1974 draft choice. Keating, 30, an Michigan alumnus, played eight seasons with the Raiders.
