Summer school work improves district buildings
Superintendent James H. McBride reported the district’s summer work program is progressing well with neglected maintenance completed. The board approved seven principals to attend a Purdue University educational television workshop on Aug. 6 and to present a clinic for teachers this fall. They accepted William Allan’s resignation as Bronson School custodian and renewed Pioneer Mutual Casualty pupil accident insurance with Bache Furey & Meyers.

Man Pleads Guilty To UC Fraud Charge
Ronald Leroy Day of Bellevue pled guilty to two counts of fraudulent misrepresentation to the Bureau of Unemployment Compensation. Judge Clifford F. Brown fined $100 and costs for the 1963 charge and suspended $50 on condition of repaying $106 to the BUC. with the 1964 charge, Day faced $200 and costs with $100 suspended on condition of repaying $742. Affidavits by BUC investigator Don L. Schindler stated Day failed to report two weeks of earnings in 1963 and unlawfully drew $106 in benefits, and that Day listed his wife as unemployed in 1964 though she has worked at General Electric Co., Bellevue.
