The Labor Department reports a 0.8 percent June price increase driven largely by fuel oil gasoline and used cars. Over the three months ending June prices climbed 7.1 percent and the index 9.3 percent higher than June 1974.
Washington reports that Columbus Ohio posted a 43.5 percent rise in total serious crimes in the first three months of 1975 versus 1974, leading nine Ohio cities in the FBI Uniform Crime Report. Canton was the only Ohio city to show a decrease. Columbus had 7,607 serious crimes in early 1974 and 10,916 in 1975.
Ohio Highway Safety Director Donald D. Cook said he was saddened by a surge in weekend traffic fatalities. Seventeen people died on Ohio roadways this past weekend, the highest non holiday toll this year, marking a return to tolls seen before the 55 mile per hour speed limit.

The Huron County Commissioners consider issuing 1 million in tax free industrial revenue bonds for Midwest Industries Willard expansion while residents debate jobs versus loopholes. A strong Strongsville incident prompts a separate vote on issuing traffic tickets to children on bicycles for law violations.
President Ford met privately with Mrs. Olson and her three children in the Oval Office to apologize on behalf of the U S government for the death of Dr Frank Olson in November 1953 after he was given LSD by the CIA without his knowledge The Olson family said they want full facts and accountability and may sue the government with Attorney General Levi to meet with their lawyers to discuss claims The Rockefeller Commission had concluded Olson was dosed without his knowledge and later died after falling from a New York hotel window.
Norfolk and Western Railway crews wrap up repairs on Corwin Street and other crossings in Norwalk. Workers will finish the last fixes before moving to Wellington, with repairs lasting four to five years and costing a lot, officials say.
Lear Siegler Inc agreed to refund nearly $750,000 to former computer school students nationwide for alleged false job promises. The FTC said the Santa Monica firm operated 19 locations from 1970 to 1973, sold or closed schools by 1974, and claimed urgent need for graduates, high placement, free services, and known opportunities.
Former St Paul coach Mike Gottfried is appointed an assistant at the University of Cincinnati. Athletic director Hindman Wall announced the move with Board ratification likely at the first fall meeting. He previously coached at Youngstown University and Morehead State College and led Struthers High School.
Norwalk attorney Frederick Waugh filed candidate petitions on Monday for the Norwalk Board of Education. Dorothy Delianides, a housewife and substitute teacher, has also filed for one of two open seats. Incumbents Edward Still and Joseph Geoghan will not seek reelection. Delianides ran unsuccessfully in 1973.
The Planning Commission meets at 8 this evening in City Council chambers to review the Coe rezoning application for the Grand and Whittlesey Avenues apartments. The Airport Authority also convenes at 7:30 tonight at the airport administration building.
