Radiation cleanup eyed at 17 counties and 26 sites
The Energy Department disclosed lingering low level radiation at two Cleveland firms Harshaw Chemical and Clecon Metals among 26 sites nationwide needing new decontamination. Remedial actions could range from small area cleanup to major soil removal and building demolition, though officials say Clecon does not pose a health hazard to workers.

Recall Ordered for One A Day Vitamins Child Proof Caps
Miles Laboratories must recall and refit 1.5 million bottles of One A Day vitamins after CPSC determined the child proof caps fail to seal securely. A federal judge in Elkhart, Indiana ordered the action under the Poison Prevention Packaging Act after Miles refused voluntary correction. The caps, made for Miles by another company, failed a federal test requiring 90 percent of adults to open and reseal. If not replaced, the child proof feature becomes meaningless for aspirin and similar products.
